London Olympics – Part 2 Athletics on Monday second week

First visit to the London 2012 Olympic stadium. Early start but no travel problems with Stratford organised like a military operation. We’re in the Park by 8:30am. Amy staying overnight travelled up with us. Met up with Ray & Jane and Lauren & Jo at Waterloo. Great to see John and Michelle in the Park after the morning athletics. Great Olympic atmosphere watching Jason Kenny win cycling sprint gold on the big screen.

London Olympics – Part 1 First week

An exciting Wednesday at the Olympic Park. Wiggins wins gold in the Time Trial and Lauren is offered a new job. A second evening at the Park on Thursday watching hockey and GB beat Belgium.

Olympics opening weekend

The weather holds for the weekend and Olympic opening ceremony. Gunwharf keys on Friday followed by a chance to watch the men’s cycling passes as it passes through Ripley.

Ride back after watching the cycling race via the New Inn at Send. That’s Andrea and Tim on the left.

A trip down to Gunwharf Keys on Friday. Humid weather for a pub crawl.

Olympic torch relay weekend

The weather changes and a great Friday in Stoke Park for the Olympic torch relay.

Weymouth – Dorset Seafood Festival

Sunday 8th July – A welcome break from the appalling weather for the F1 Grand Prix on Friday and wedding on Saturday. The Seafood Festival at Weymouth was a washout on Saturday but everyone was making up for it on Sunday. Great atmosphere, food and a few beers. We’d like to go back next year.

F1 Grand Prix Silverstone

July 6th and a wet and miserable Friday practice at Silverstone. We we luckier than many trying to get in and out of the circuit with the carparks turning to mud.

John & Michelle’s wedding

At the The Boat That Rocked, Portland Harbour, Weymouth. A bit of rain didn’t damped a great afternoon and evening.

Cornwall – Newquay and Polperro

A weekend in Newquay on Dan’s stag weekend and an opportunity to take some pictures. This gallery is Newquay, Fistral beach and on the drive home a stop at Polperro on the south Cornish coast. Surely one of the most beautiful places in the world.
